The National Franchisee Association (NFA) was recently recognized for its 2019 Issue 4 of Flame with a 2020 Award for Publication Excellence (APEX). Flame is the official magazine of the NFA and has been produced for over 20 years. The quarterly magazine is read by over 350 franchisees representing over 5,000 BURGER KING® restaurants.
The NFA’s Flame is no stranger to the APEX. Various issues of the publication were also recognized over the past decade for their high quality. The awards are given based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness.
Flame, 2019 Issue 4 focused on the success of the Impossible WHOPPER®, which launched in BURGER KING restaurants across the United States in August 2019. The new menu item brought attention to the brand as its first venture into meat-free territory, winning over new customers and boosting systemwide sales. NFA members spoke about how the new burger affected their restaurants.
The publication also included information on best practices for speed of service in BK® restaurants and highlighted franchisees who won awards at the 2019 BKC Convention and the NFA Annual Meeting.
“I am very proud of our amazing NFA communications team, which works very diligently on the magazine each quarter,” said CEO Christy Williams.
The NFA would not be able to produce Flame each quarter without support from its vendor partners. We also appreciate the franchisees who contribute their insight, stories and best practices each quarter – thank you!
